Welcome! I'm Chef Enzo:

"Chef Enzo" is a retired executive chef and has worked on the east and west coasts of the USA as well as working in Asia, South America and Europe. He has founded several successful companies in both the retail restaurant business and has been most successful with his wholesale food business. He now coaches food business firms on how to start up and grow their business.

Enzo was born in Connecticut to a large Italian family. At about four years old he began cooking with his beloved Grandmother Santa Francoletti. At four his cooking was limited to stirring the sauce or washing the vegetables but from these beginnings a seed was planted.

Enzo's father, Luigi, was also an inspiration as he worked as a very excellent chef. Enzo followed his passion and worked his way up from salad prep to full time cooking and earned his way through the trenches. As a 10 year old he was prepping food in his father's restaurant and also ran a few business ventures. (Lemonade Stand)

In high school, he selected the baking trade as his trade major. After high school and a short but successful catering business he entered the Army and became a Mess Sgt. or cook. Sixteen years as an Army Reservist cook showed him about every trick in the book. Try working and leading a team to prepare three or four thousand meals a day!

After working at and founding a few restaurants on both the East and West coast of the USA, he traveled a bit and worked with a few food business associates around the world. In 1982 he started a wholesale bakery and was very successful in the Seattle market and marketed to Japan and Europe.

Enzo had a specialty food item business that specialized in a marinated eggplant product, salad dressing product and a four year stretch in the prepared foods department of Whole Foods Market in Seattle. He is an unofficially retired boomer baby. Enzo writes and works with food firms and individual start up food business entrepreneurs. He has several interesting and fun food related websites and blogs and also does a bit of catering for friends as well. Enzo is a regular guy, who loves food, and the food business just like you.
